New Day – Ghana 5/2008
Sunday May 11th 2008 (morning)
I am happy to report we landed and other than the outburst of applause it seemed pretty normal. Â Come to think of it, is it normal for everyone on a flight to hold their breathe simultaneously? Â I guess not.
This time there are seven of us. Â Curry and Erin are the founders of Signs Of Hope International. Â Brian is head of Deaf Studies at UVU. Â Two past SOHI volunteers are here, Michelle and Amy. Â Amy is here through July. Â She is arriving a week before the rest of the volunteers. Â Then there is me and Deb. Â Deb met up with us at JFK airport. Â She flew in from Washington DC.
We just had breakfast on the plane. Â We will land in Accra in one hour. Â DonKwa will be there with the tro-tro. Â I have to smile!! Â No, it wasn’t just a dream last January. Â It was, and IS real!
Hi! My husband, Michael, met Rachel today at a Convention in Los Angeles! His company is Phoenix Color Corp., and I was very excited when he told me he met Rachel! I want to thank your assistant for the DVDs given to my husband. You have truly touched our lives through your incredible videos, as our son (a twin) has a speech delay, and signing has incredibly empowered his life. We continue on our journey of communication, and I wanted to thank you for “doing what you do”!! Many blessings, Maureen Malloy (NJ)
