Portland, Oregon – 2011

To read the stories of some of the folks anticipating the Stumptown concert, please checkout the Signing Time blog post.  We had an amazing group of people turn out for the concert, from Deaf families to ASL students, families whose kids have special needs and families whose kids are totally typical.

Families of all kinds (adoptive, Deaf, hard of hearing, and kids with physical challenges) all came together to experience the joy of song and sign as a community.  No one could help giggling during the Silly Pizza adventure, and the Colors of the Rainbow song brought together so many kids with some many adorable personalities.  Many in the audience heard Rachel’s own adoption story for the very first time, and there were tears as well as laughter, as some recognized themselves in parts of her story.  It truly was an amazing experience that proved signing is for all people of all abilities.
