American Sign Lanaguage (ASL) Community Awareness:
Establishing a sense of community and heightened sense of awareness of the benefits of teaching ASL to children of all abilities.  Signing Time! will partner with local communities and organizations to establish programs that will create a family-to-family network offering support and assistance with ASL, through:  sharing of resources, development and broadcast of the Signing Time series on public television, public appearances, product donations, and providing information on published studies.

A recent NIH study shows that children who learn to sign may experience:

  • Reduced frustration and tantrums
  • Increased bonding with parents
  • Enhanced speaking, spelling, and reading skills!

Signing Time! Hometown Edition:
Signing Time cast members made a special appearance in Charlemont, VA as part of the Come to My Town" contest. The winner of the contest was the Robert & Kei Malone family of Charlemont, MA! The Signing Time! crew visited the Malone Family in Charlemont, MA on October 6-9, 2005 for a series of events open to the public!

View our Calendar section for our most current list of planned appearances.

Signing Time Family Summer Camp:
The Signing Time! Family Camp is designed to give participants an opportunity to "come and play" with our family. It is an adventure for all ability levels with activities created for the entire family to enjoy.

Our first Family Camp was a great success. We had families from all over the country. It was so much fun to meet you and play together for the weekend!

Click here for more information and photos from our first camp.

Miracle Gardens:
Constructing special universally accessible playgrounds, created to provide fun for everyone! The playgrounds will be designed for children of all abilities by eliminating barriers and encouraging interaction. Whether a child arrives at one of our parks in a wheelchair, a walker or on their own two feet won't matter; these 'boundless' playgrounds will provide a safe play environment for all children no matter their ability.
